We’re bringing closed captions to all our videos. In this blog, we’ll be elaborating on this change and how you can take advantage of this new feature to reach even more people with your property videos.

Our mission has always been to produce high-quality and engaging property videos that get your listings in front of as many potential buyers and renters as possible. But, we realised that our videos were missing out on a huge chunk of the market. Technology is most powerful when it empowers everyone. When products are designed to be accessible, more people can do what they love.

That’s why, from today, all HD Property Videos will now be delivered with closed captions. This means your videos can now reach even more people than before.

In addition to this, we’ll be auditing all our templates for other accessibility enhancements like improving the contrast of text on video, mixing audio to make voiceovers more clear and reducing visual clutter where possible.

In most cases, you won’t have to do anything to make these captions available to viewers. Because they’re embedded directly into the video, they are uploaded with it when you add your video to social media and real estate portals. And for locations which don’t automatically detect the built-in captions, we provide them as a separate file as well which you can import afterwards.

Adding Closed Captions to Facebook

Most people primarily access Facebook on their mobile devices, and about 85% of videos are watched on mute. Without hearing your script, potential buyers or renters are missing out on a half of your video!

To add captions to your video on Facebook, follow these steps:

  1. Upload your video to Facebook as normal.
  2. Once you get a notification that your video is ready to view, open the notification.
  3. Click  at the bottom and select Edit Video.
  4. Click Choose File below Upload SRT files and select a .srt file from your computer. Then, click Save.

HDPV currently only provides captions in Australian English. To upload captions for other languages, repeat steps 3 and 4.

This is just one example of the ways HD Property Videos continues to innovate and provide excellent value to our customers, vendors and their clients. To get started and give your listings the edge, get in touch.
